HortiTrends Weekly News & Comment - Wages in Horticulture Survey 2015 - Countdown to GLDA International Seminar - Message from Essen

One of the questions I get asked mostly at www.JobsInHorticulture.ie from employers posting new jobs is; What is the going rate for a ....? Its data that we are sorely missing in the industry so in partnership with Barry Lupton, Editor at Horticulture Connected Journal and with your participation and partnership, we will be able to come up with current statistics on 'Wages in Irish Horticulture'. There are two question streams. One for Employers and one for Employees. Please click Wages Survey to take the survey and more importantly share this link with your colleagues and encourage them to get involved. It takes less than 3 minutes to complete. Three minutes of your time, whether an employer or employee that could give you a valuable insight into current wage trends. Results will be published in the March and future editions of 'Horticulture Connected Journal'. Have you subscribed yet? If not, you can do so HERE.

The countdown to tomorrows GLDA's 19th International Seminar "The New Perennial Movement: Transient Trend or Adaptable Style?"is on. Numbers have surpassed all expectations with over 200 registrations so far. The event itself, apart from the excellent line-up of speakers and exhibitors will also give you a sense of the resilience and the resurgence of the landscape design community in Ireland.

The 2015 IPM Essen show was well attended by Irish and international visitors last week. It was positive and noticeable, that there is a growing interest in the Irish market once again from the international exhibitors there. Pat Fitzgerald of Fitzsgerald Nurseries, Aidan Campion and his Bord na Mona team along with Pat Mc Donnell of Springfield Nurseries were flying the flag for Ireland.
