Impact of the Decision To Leave the EU
It is now clear that the British people have made the choice to leave the European Union. The country has spoken and it is for us to listen. Many businesses will be concerned and need time to assess the implications. But they are used to dealing with challenges and change and we should be confident they will adapt.
It’s important to remember that, despite the turmoil, the legal situation today is no different to the legal situation yesterday. We are still in the European Union, and will be for the next two years at least.

I am one of those presenters that has been promoting the need to respond to a new consumer. 2017 is the year when the Millennial shopper starts spending more money in the retail environment that the Baby Boomer and we need to be develop our market now to grasp the opportunity and challenges this will present.

HortiTrends Weekly News & Comment - Glas 2015 Review - July 24th
Glas 2015 is always a good barometer for the sentiment of the horticulture industry in Ireland. Speaking to some exhibitors, they felt that numbers where down, although that should be looked at in the context of a much enlarged show. They also commented that the quality of the buyers and the size of the spend was much improved on 2014.

I have an admission to make. There’s a dark corner of my garage that’s a graveyard for dead, decrepit and defunct garden tools. When I visit the garage to do manly stuff (cutting, sawing, sanding, hammering etc) I have to avoid eye contact (figuratively speaking) with this Boulevard of Broken Tool Dreams because it is an embarrassment to me, a reminder of my appalling lack of DIY skills.
